Pharmacies are undergoing a fundamental transformation: while medications are increasingly ordered online, expectations are rising for atmosphere, personal consultation, and complementary services such as intimate healthcare or vaccinations.
The pharmacy at Ostbahnhof was comprehensively redesigned in collaboration with Straub Architekten. At the heart of the transformation is an interior concept that enables and spatially expresses these new service formats—most notably through a specially developed vaccination cube.
The design also serves as a visual statement in the public realm: with a strong architectural presence and unconventional material combinations, it draws the attention of passersby and invites them to enter. In doing so, the pharmacy becomes a vibrant countermodel to the anonymity of online retail.
